Using soft multicolored velvety chenille yarn - recently the moms and dads, children and teens came over for a community activity and crafted "Love Bugs" as gifts for the old folks in area nursing homes for Valentine's Day. Here are a few pictures of the chenille yarn and the 15mm multicolored pom poms we used to make the love bugs and to create a nose on about 75 Valentine's Day gifts. The pom poms are the size of a baby finger nail and quickly and perfectly adhere to the chenille fibers by using a small glue gun. We first tried using fabric glue and Elmer's glue but they did not dry fast enough. It gave time for the pom poms to shift around or fall off. Glue gun adhesive set the nose in place in under ten seconds. The children did need adult supervision with the glue guns so they don't burn themselves, but still, a good time was had by all!
